QBurst Sponsors SMWiFairfax

August 7, 2017

QBurst is a co-sponsor of SMWiFairfax, the Social Media Week Independent conference to be held at Capital One Headquarters, Fairfax County, Virginia on September 14, 2017.

The conference will bring together industry leaders for a spirited discussion on social media’s impact on business, government, and politics. The one-day event is being hosted by Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA), an independent authority that promotes Fairfax County as an investment destination.

Besides sponsoring the conference, QBurst has pitched in to build and host the conference website. QBurst will also support a live Twitter feed on the events at the main stage so non-attendees interested in the debate can catch up on the proceedings via social media. The company will also showcase its products and services at the conference venue.

Themed “Language and the Machine,” the event will address the implications of the fast-paced technological changes for governments and businesses. Questions expected to fire up discussions at the conference include: How to make yourself heard among the thousands of voices vying for the same audience? When social media raises the stakes in an already competitive market, what can companies do to stay on top? How is citizen engagement being reshaped in the digital age?

Social Media Week (SMW) is a global platform that fosters creative discussions among professionals at the intersection of media, marketing, and technology. SMWi is an event independently hosted by community organizers and supported by SMW. SMWiFairfax is organized by FCEDA with sponsorship from CapitalOne, QBurst, DC Inno, InsideNoVa, WeWork, and SwingSpace.
