The challenge was to build an innovative media-related application. The team scored with notJusNews, a viral news prediction system that is powered by deep neural network and machine learning. The system identifies words that are semantically similar to words in a viral news and helps predict the virality of a particular news story. The product envisioned as a Freemium model comes with a mobile app and a dashboard—Go Viral—that pushes the viral content to the app. The concept fetched the team a cash prize of Rs 1.5 lakh.

Techspectations, which was conducted at Kochi on 19 November 2016, brought together the cream of the IT industry from around the world.
